Summit to Strengthen Our Community
Against
Hate Crimes
The goal
of this public summit located at Trinity Cathedral Hall – 2620 Capitol
Avenue, Downtown Sacramento is to discuss issues of violence motivated by
hatred against minorities and to open vast lines of communication between
the many affected communities. We will stand together and show that we will
not allow our members to be affected by this hate. Open to public.
Noon - 12:00 - Introduction from former Poet Laureate Michael Gorman
12:05 - Background of current issues and history by Marge Covino
12:35 - Non-engagement training by Jade Baranski
12:45 - Break and speaker preparation.
1:00 - Comments from community leaders, representatives of organizations and
the public. (5 minute limit each.)

1:55 - Q & A
3:00 - Adjournment
Among the guests expected are La Raza Network, Stonewall Democratic Club,
Sacramento Gay and Lesbian Center, Sacramento County Board of Education,
Sacramento NOW, C.S.U.S. PRIDE Center, Q-Crew, La Familia Counseling Center,
Respect Sacramento, School of Unity and Liberation, G.L.A.A.D, Freedom Bound
Center, Lavender Library, Sacramento Grove of the Oak Inc., Westminster
Presbyterian Church, the Interfaith Service Bureau,
Outreach Program for Transgenders In Crisis,
Human Rights Campaign, and L.G.B.T People in Medicine at UC Davis. Others
are invited and welcome.
