Sacramento Pride 2001
Sacramento Valley AIDS Walk, September 9, 2001
|
 |
|
8:45am, the crowd at the West steps of the Capitol
Building. The sun is rising in the east behind the
building. This causes shadows and a bright sky and poor
picture balance. Once again, criticizing the photography. |

Mayor Heather Fargo at the podium. |

Mayor Heather Fargo. Gratuitous inclusion of
politician's picture to aggrandize the site. |
|

 |
|
Paul Curtis, Event Chairperson, at the podium.
Also at the morning ceremony was Jennifer Whitney and Cheer SF.
I took more pictures of Cheer SF, they came out worse than the
Rainbow Festival ones. Better you visit them at their site
www.cheersf.org . |

Walkers on H Street crossing 16th Street. The
crowd was large enough to stop traffic for several minutes.
Nice morning for a walk ! |

Cheer SF group. The picture is from the back
of the crowd, 3 Cheer SF members are lifted up holding signs
"CHEER" "S" "F". They're working for CARES.

Auto Concourse de Elegance at the
Mercantile. Lincoln, Chrysler, Metropolitan, Mustang,
Ford. Nice old cars. Insert bad joke here - "There's
always old things at the Merc." |
Gay Rodeo, August 19, 2001
 |
|
Jr Bull riding scene. The rider is still on
the bull, the clown in front of the bull. Look close.
The officials wouldn't let me get any closer because I didn't
have a rodeo badge. So I need a camera with a zoom or a
badge. |

Jr Bull minus the rider. None of the crowd
pictures came out. It was hot, typical Sacramento summer
day, like 100 degrees. |
Village People concert, California State Fair, August
17, 2001
 |
|
The happy crowd ranged from
grannies to kids on dad's shoulders. We've been at it for
25 years they said. |

Performing a medley and making fun
of other's people's old disco tunes "Trash Disco." Note
afro wig. They sang Sylvester's "Mighty Real" without the
lead vocals for a bittersweet effect. "Macho Man" got the
crowd singing along and dancing. |

|
Singing the finale "YMCA."
Indian has his headdress on now. |

(editorial
note: ok, the pics aren't the best, hey I have a 1
megapixel camera and no artistic talent, so send me your
pics to include
mark@outsacramento.com or better pose for me nude :) ) |
